General
I’m at your website. What’s the point?
The point is to make my life and your life a lot easier. It frustrates me when I can’t find websites I like going to because I don’t remember the address, or it gets lost in between hundreds of other links in my favourites and bookmarks… That’s why I created this place. Somewhere for all the links to go, no matter what they’re about (well… you know, to a tasteful point anyhow - I have a general audience here!).
Is it just a bunch of links?
Not exactly. Each website is categorized and reviewed meaning you can simply use the search box to look for the type of site you’d like to visit, and read any thoughts I, and visitors, have on the results that come up. As this is a new website it will take a while before there is a wider selection but, as I describe below, submissions are always welcome for you to help too!

What kind of criteria do you have when recommending a website?
gotothatsite.co.uk has a PG rating so some subjects aren’t ever likely to be reviewed. The ones that are will have warnings if I deem them unsuitable for younger readers. On the other end of the scale a selection of websites include a referral link so I will be rewarded if visitors decide to sign up / purchase after clicking on it.
Referrals? Sounds biased to me!
I go into more details on my referrals page but basically I only refer a product or service if I have purchased from the company myself and want to send more business their way. Using referral links are always optional though.
Would you add my website?
Of course! Use my contact form to send me an email and tell me about your website. I’ll need the link and a short summary of why I, or anyone else, would want to visit your site. Please make sure you add that the website is owned by you if that is the case. If for some reason I do not add your website I’m sure I will have a genuine reason for my decision and in which case I will reply to you and explain.
If you accept my website, is it truly free advertising for me?
I ask that whoever has specifically asked me to review their site / sent in a review for me to post will add a courtesy link or trackback back to my blog. I cannot make anyone do that, but it would be appreciated.
There’s a website I like but I don’t actually own it… Would you still add it?
No problem. Use the contact form but remember to tell me that you don’t own it. Reviews or summaries are also optional for websites you don’t own. Either way, I will write a summary in my words regardless.
I saw a link but I don’t agree with what you’ve said or I want to elaborate on your comments further. Can I do that?
You will be most welcome to. Of course I will need the address so I know which link you are referring to if you are sending your reply via the contact form. Otherwise it’s easy to share your views by replying to the blog post.
Uh-Oh… I found a dead URL!
Please make me aware of any dead links by replying to the blog post or sending me a message. I will try my best to correct any such problems that occur. Please also let me know if I’ve made any glaring errors or if websites have been moved so I can correct such mistakes. I cannot, however, guarantee that any post will be grammatically word perfect as I am only human!
I found a link to an inappropriate URL on your website! I want you to remove it. Will you?
That will depend on what you call inappropriate. All websites I link to should clearly state if they contain anything that may offend. If I have not given due warning then please let me know the link and the page it was found on and I will attempt to correct it to everyone’s satisfaction.
You hardly have any websites listed! When will you add more?
This website is a continuing project that, in theory, will never end - there will always be websites to go to, and when old ones are no longer available, new ones will be. I intend to keep updating regularly.
Would you find a website for me?
Unfortunately, no. The previous incarnation of gotothatsite.co.uk implied that I “would do the searching, so you don’t have to!” but I decided an overhaul was needed as that gave the wrong impression. I post about sites I like, I do not find a site based on a specification. Sorry!

Some comments are picked up by anti-spam plugins. If your comment doesn’t show up straight away, it will appear when I have had a chance to manually accept it.

I only delete comments if they are spam, duplicates, irrelevant to the topic, or offensive. If I have deleted your comment in error please let me know and accept my apologies.
Why do you have adverts?
For every advertising banner or link clicked along the left side of the blog or on individual posts, I receive a few cents. It might not sound worth it but it all adds up and it helps cover hosting and domain fees.
Will other adverts ever be implemented?
No, I’m happy with the adverts as they are. I feel they aren’t too obtrusive or annoying, and are designed to blend in with the theme of the site. I am not a fan of advertising for the sake of it so you will never receive pop-up’s or audio adverts while visiting - unfortunately I only review and do not own external sites so I cannot say the same for them.
Is revenue the only reason you post?
Not at all! I enjoy giving kudos to websites out there. Some websites don’t get the credit they deserve, and others are simply worth promoting.
Are you paid to write summaries about sites?
Any website I post about is because I think it’s worth discussing, not because I gain anything by it.
Your blog doesn’t display properly!
Please send me a message with details of your browser (including the version), operating system and what looks wrong and I will do my best to sort it out. I know their are issues if viewing with Internet Explorer 6, but I’m working on it.
